Civitas is a small, high-performing, fully remote team of public health and health care association management professionals. We serve 170+ member organization across the country and are committed to our mission of driving cross-sector, multi-stakeholder, and data-driven initiatives through increased collaboration, shared learning, and education.
Our members represent regional health data utilities, health improvement collaboratives, regional and statewide health information exchanges, all-payer claims databases, health data organizations, and affiliated organizations. Our federal and national grant-funded programs focus on multi-site, data-driven approaches to advance health and health equity. Though our team is small, our national network and our efforts reach across the United States.

Position Summary
The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining Civitas’ day-to-day accounting and financial activities, while collaborating closely with the outsourced accounting firm that serves as the CFO and Controller, as well as Civitas’ leadership and operations team. This includes managing accounts payable and receivable, expenses management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis, compliance, and internal controls. The Manager will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the organization, serving as the primary point of contact for financial activities. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field and have at least six years of experience in financial and operations management, including at least two years in a management role. The candidate should also have exceptional communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Civitas Networks for Health is a national nonprofit (501(c)(3)) mission- and member-driven organization that raises the voices of local health collaboratives putting in the hard work to change the way health care operates. Civitas has more than 175 dues-paying members, an annual conference, and additional funding from grants and contracts. In the past, we have received funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as well as multiple private foundations.
Given our structure there times when our needs are best met by outside support. Request for proposals will be issued equitably and posted here as Civitas has them. Civitas welcomes proposals from either qualified individual professionals or firms that have the ability to meet deliverables outlined in open opportunities.
