SUMMARY:Kill the Clipboard: What Does the CMS-Aligned Network Strategy Mean for the Future of Interoperability
DESCRIPTION:This webinar examines two recent developments with the potential to reshape healthcare data exchange: the release of the Kill the Clipboard policy roadmap and the White House and CMS announcement of what they envision as a CMS-aligned network. While the past decade has brought significant policy progress through the HITECH Act\, 21st Century Cures Act\, and CMS Interoperability Rules\, much of the implementation has stalled. The Kill the Clipboard roadmap calls for renewed urgency to eliminate administrative waste\, modernize data exchange\, and build trust-based partnerships grounded in open standards. The White House and CMS announcement\, coupled with the CMS/ASTP/ONC Health Technology Ecosystem RFI\, and broader federal AI action plan\, clearly indicates this administration is prioritizing working with the private sector to help them more aggressively implement those open standards. This session will explore how these developments relate to each other and what they mean for the future of interoperability. It will unpack how this new federal push aligns with or diverges from TEFCA and other national exchange efforts\, and what role the private sector must play in order to move from proprietary solutions to sustainable\, standards-based ones. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nIdentify how the CMS-aligned network strategy reflects the policy priorities outlined in the Kill the Clipboard roadmap\nDescribe the structural and policy changes needed to improve the way healthcare data is shared and governed and why the EHR is no longer sufficient\nAnalyze how TEFCA and other national networks are positioned to evolve in response to this federal strategy\nAssess the opportunities and risks for public and private sector collaboration in advancing interoperable\, standards-based data exchange\n\nSpeakers: \n\nRyan Howells\, Principal Leavitt Partners\, an HMA Company\,\nDavid Lee\, Principal Leavitt Partners\, an HMA Company\,\nAneesh Chopra\, Chief Strategy Officer Arcadia\n\nThis webinar is intended for Chief Information Officers\, Chief Technology Officers and others who are working in digital policy and digital health transformation.

SUMMARY:WEDI 2025 Summer Forum
DESCRIPTION:Join WEDI in the Windy City in August as we take an in-depth\, engaged\, and interactive look at the implementation of the CMS Enhancing Interoperability and Improving Prior Authorization Final Rule (0057-F). \nLearn from your fellow health IT colleagues as we spend time sharing implementation challenges\, collaborating on solutions\, identifying best practices\, and showcasing progress on meeting the goals of 0057-F to drive more efficient and patient-friendly health care delivery.Day 2 offers a detailed look at the recently introduced X12 8060 HIPAA electronic transactions and its impact in the future of health care data exchange. Hear updates from X12 and the perspectives of national experts on critical transactions\, including the claim\, eligibility verification\, remittance advice\, and others. Share your insight at a listening session on the 8060 transactions conducted by CMS that will offer attendees the opportunity to provide feedback on implementation guides\, discuss how these new standards could support evolving business processes\, and tackle key implementation issues. \nVirtual registration options are available\, all sessions will be recorded.WEDI will not have a host hotel for this event. Onsite attendees are encouraged to research lodging options near Wintrust Hall (address 16 E Pearson Street)

SUMMARY:From Connectivity to Confidence: Operationalizing Data Usability and Trust at Scale
DESCRIPTION:In health care\, connectivity is no longer the barrier\, but usability is. As organizations exchange more data than ever before\, they face growing challenges in aligning\, validating\, and applying that information meaningfully. This webinar will introduce the Patient Information Quality Improvement (PIQI) Framework\, a practical\, standards-based model for assessing data usability in real time. \nJoin Clinical Architecture as they highlight how organizations are using PIQI to build operational trust through message-level scoring and actionable feedback across diverse data contributors and consumers. The session will feature real-world lessons from HIEs currently embedding this model into their workflows and will explore strategies for moving from one-off data cleanup to continuous data quality improvement.

SUMMARY:An Integrated "Turnkey" Solution Connecting Clinical and Claims Data Webinar Hosted by MedicaSoft
DESCRIPTION:HIEs play a valuable role in the healthcare ecosystem\, aggregating healthcare data and optimizing it for use in care delivery\, public health\, and analytics. DHIN has implemented a practical approach to connecting clinical and claims data and provides data services using a FHIR based solution; this “turnkey” approach can be used in any Exchange. We will discuss the approach to connecting clinical and claims information at the aggregate as well as at the individual patient level; and will outline business related use cases that are easily enabled because of the overall DHIN solution approach and functionality. Learning Objectives: 1) Understand and highlight the practical and replicable functionality associated with a “turnkey” approach to connecting clinical and claims information in the aggregate and for individual patients. 2) Identifying possible business-related opportunities using this approach. 3) Creating a positive approach for payers\, hospitals\, and ACOs to collaborate to track and close gaps in health care delivery. All objectives will be met through actual use case examples and a visionary approach to building upon what any other system has that is legacy and in use. \nPresenters: \n\nMike O’Neill\, CEO MedicaSoft/Senior Advisor IT HIMSS NYS Chapter\nRandy Farmer\, Chief Operating Officer\, Delaware Health Information Network

SUMMARY:ED & Post-Acute Collaboration: Streamlining SNF Transfers with Real-Time Data Webinar hosted by PointClickCare
DESCRIPTION:High readmissions and poor outcomes for Skilled Nursing (SNF) patients transferred to the ED are common. Effective information exchange and coordination between SNFs and ED staff is a continuing challenge. If the history packet is sent with the patient\, it rarely provides quick and easy access to meaningful data for front line staff to render rapid decisions or treatment.
