DESCRIPTION:Vaccines are a cornerstone of clinical care and a priority for public health agencies seeking to prevent and monitor disease outbreaks. In an era of declining vaccine rates\, it is critical to understand what factors are contributing to this trend and how to reverse it. California’s publicly available immunization datasets are incomplete\, creating challenges understanding true vaccination rates and identifying approaches to improve those rates. Closing these data gaps is a critical first step toward reversing declining vaccination rates and safeguarding public health. To help overcome this challenge\, Blue Shield of California Industry Initiatives is hosting a webinar on Strengthening Immunization Reporting: Smarter Data\, Better Outcomes. Attend the webinar to learn about multi-stakeholder efforts that are underway to understand and improve vaccine data. The panelists will discuss progress being made through the Public Health for All Californians Together (PHACT) Coalition\, as well as other opportunities to improve vaccine data\, including at the clinical practice level. Additionally\, the webinar will explore how clinicians and public health agencies can use better vaccine data to improve individual and population health outcomes. The speakers will provide a call to action for all webinar participants\, so listeners will be encouraged to think about how they can join efforts to improve vaccine data\, reporting\, and use.

SUMMARY:Realizing the Promise of RHTP: Transforming Infrastructure into Sustainable Rural Care
DESCRIPTION:Rural health care does not fail for a lack of local commitment. It fails at the systemic gaps—where clinical staff are stretched thin\, outdated IT infrastructure isolates local clinics\, and patients must travel hours for basic specialty or behavioral health services. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’(CMS) landmark $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to bridge these divides. However\, with states facing pressure to obligate and deploy their initial funding\, the critical question has shifted from how much funding is available to how we maximize these investments to build a permanently connected\, resilient rural health ecosystem.\n\n\n\nSuccess requires moving beyond basic check-the-box compliance. It demands strategically aligning with emerging state-level priorities\, understanding the nuances of the RHTP funding guidelines\, and building the type of enabling infrastructure that actually changes daily clinical workflows on the ground.\n\n\n\nThis session examines what it takes to turn federal RHTP dollars into lasting clinical transformation. We will share emerging trends we are seeing across different state plans and dive into preliminary\, high-level survey results detailing how early subrecipients are mobilizing their awards. Our discussion will outline actionable recommendations on how to maximize investments in enabling technology\, accompanied by a deep dive into the specific interoperability frameworks that enable true\, cross-facility interpretability.
